David Jenkins says that it's a classic film. Also shows that a B movie can be a grade A movie. It was also the very first movie to show an actual toilet flushing which also makes it one of the first movies to be considered grotesque. The movie was an inspiration and many references came from this movie whether it be a comedy or drama. The use of chocolate sauce was an accurate replacement of real blood for the 1960's black and white film. 50 years later, this film is still one of the most suspenseful in movie history.
